After an intense three-week training camp in Fortaleza, Alen Stajcic’s side have arrived in Sao Paulo with their opening group match against Canada just 10 days away.
It’s the start of what Alleway hopes will be a golden campaign for the Aussies with the 26-year-old confident the squad has the tools to cause some damage at the Games.
“We’ve got such an attacking threat that countries all over the world are scared of,” said Alleway.
“We’re so powerful and fast up there and are great finishers. That’s one of our assets.
“The partnership with Alanna [Kennedy] and I [at the back] is slowly developing. We’ve also got so many versatile players.
“Our midfield is outstanding we’ve got so many players that can fit in and for the first time in forever we have real competition for starting 11 spots.
“It’s exciting, it’s definitely the best team we’ve had so far and putting our best foot forward to hopefully come away with a medal.”
Alleway added: “On our day we can beat anyone. The competition in the top 10 teams in the world now is so tight that on anyone’s day results can swing.
“We’re in it to win it.”
