Cahill, Kyah surprise Canberra school kids

Lanyon High School in Canberra is a football-mad school. And recently they received the surprise of a lifetime when Socceroo superstar Tim Cahill surprised them mid-way through their school assembly, accompanied by Matildas players Kyah Simon and Ellie Carpenter.

The assembly raised the roof as the three football superstars crashed their way into the school and started participating in the drills that the football team were demonstrating to the rest of the school.

The reason for their visit? They were spreading the word about the Foxtel All-Stars Tim Cahill Ambitions Search, an initiative led by Tim Cahill and Foxtel to support young footballers in following their dreams.

After the footballing finished, Tim and the girls spoke to the assembly about the Ambitions Tour and about their own personal journeys in football, taking questions from the students and of course stopping for photos and autographs.

Lastly, the trio had one more trick up their sleeves asking the school to host a juggling competition, with the last player standing winning a secret prize. Young gun David Gurney outlasted the rest and won the opportunity to walk out the match ball to the Socceroos match against Kyrgyzstan in Canberra. David was speechless and credited his school friends and their support to getting him through to take out the comp.
