In similar circumstance to the previous match against France, the Westfield Matildas found themselves three goals down within the first 30 minutes of the match which meant that they had a difficult challenge ahead to get amongst the points. Substitute Michelle Heyman scored twice to reduce the deficit, but the Westfield Matildas were unable to bridge the gap enough to improve their standing in Group B.

Going into the match, Westfield Matildas head Coach Hesterine de Reus gave debuts to Newcastle Jets teammates Hannah Brewer (Cap 189) and Gema Simon (Cap 190).

Scotland started the stronger of the teams and immediately applied the pressure with the Westfield Matildas goalkeeper Brianna Davey called into action early having to make five saves in the opening ten minutes, including a long range shot from Rachel Corsie.

Lisa Evans gave Scotland the lead in the 12th minute slotting past Davey after being set-up by Hayley Lauder.

Jane Ross extended the Scots lead in the 28th minute and then added the third on the half hour mark.

The Westfield Matildas best chance of the half came in the 41st minute when Kim Carroll headed over the bar from a free kick.

De Reus made two changes at half-time with Laura Alleway and Katrina Gorry replacing Emma Checker and Chloe Logarzo respectively.

Eight minutes later Leena Khamis was replaced by Michelle Heyman who had an impact after being on the park for ten minutes scoring from a tight angle following some good build up play.

Scotland restored their three goal advantage in the 70th minute when Jane Ross completed her hat-trick.

Heyman pulled another goal back four minutes later after receiving a pass from the Westfield Matildas captain Kathryn Gill, and then sent a sweet 20 yard strike past Gemma Fay in the Scotland goal.
