From 24 currently to 3000 elite Aussie youngsters receiving top-class training is just one of a number of goals in the FFA’s wide-ranging Whole Of Football Plan, announced Tuesday.
The blueprint was outlined by Chairman Frank Lowy, FFA CEO David Gallop and Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou as a road map for the next 20 years.

A major goal was identifying and increasing the pool of talented players around the country who'll power national teams and Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League.
Currently only 24 players based at the FFA Centre of Excellence in Canberra have access to a world-class development pathway.

The goal, says the document, is a combined pool of 3000 male and female players from 12-19 years of age receiving this level of development.
Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou said bigger numbers meant stronger talent pools.
“Youth development around the world is a numbers game. The more numbers you have playing, the more numbers you have to choose talented players from," the Asian Cup-winning coach said.
FFA will expand the initial intake for the FFA Centre of Excellence from 24 to 36 for next year with the view to reach 3000 players overall over the next 20 years.
