A Fantastic Way to get into Football

Telstra Football Anytime, Football Federation Australia's official introductory football program, is continuing to prove extremely popular amongst the wider community. Telstra Football Anytime, Football Federation Australia's official introductory football program, is continuing to prove extremely popular amongst the wider community. It is also very versatile in terms of the length of the program and in particular the target audience that Member Federations and States are endeavouring to reach. Whilst it is typically a six session program conducted over a six week period TFA has also been delivered by clubs during school holiday periods (over 3 days). The program has also been used to introduce football to indigenous communities with great effect and recently several 'girls only' programs have been conducted, one of which, coordinated by former Matilda Amy Taylor, attracted almost 100 participants in Wollongong. Furthermore, Telstra Football Anytime can be a great way to introduce parents to the game as coaches and helpers - Football Federation Australia is currently working on altering the delivery of the program slightly in order to better facilitate this process.

Almost 7,000 participants have already enjoyed the program in every State & Territory in Australia with another 10,000 expected to become involved within the next 12 months. The program is primarily targeted at new players between the ages of 5-12 and emphasises fun and participation through small-sided games and activities. All participants also receive their very own kit at the conclusion of the program which includes a Nike football and cones so they are able to play football with family and friends. Many children who go through the program are also given the once in a lifetime chance to play on the field during either a Hyundai A-League, Socceroos or Matildas match and demonstrate their skills to thousands of people.

It is best suited to either a club or school environment with FFA and/or your Member Federation providing support in relation to provision of coaches and general advice.
