The Socceroos created history when they qualified for the second round of the World Cup for the first time courtesy of a gutsy 2-all draw with Croatia. Here's what some of the Australian players had to say after the match.

Mark Viduka - skipper - striker Football is a funny thing - you can play so well and you can concede some funny goals. I don't think we deserved to concede those sort of goals and we worked hard for our gaols. There were a couple of penalties we could have had, but we were just happy to get through - it was a great night. And afterwards it was great just to see all the Aussies, and even the Croatian supporters were getting down with the Down Under thing. I think there's going to be a lot of nationalities here who are going to be following Australia as their second team.

Lucas Neill- defender We had another dramatic game - but even today I still had the belief. That Aussie spirit comes in again like in the Japan game. I really, really believed all game that we were going to get the result. I never feared Croatia taking a two-goal lead, and at the other end, I knew we were always capable of scoring. We just go about it in a funny way.

Brett Emerton - midfielder I am ecstatic for the boys - I think we deserved to go through to the next round and we've done that and it is going to be something special. Throughout the whole team there is a lot of confidence and we've improved with every game. This Australian team - I think the camaraderie is something special - everyone gets on so well together and as you can see out there on the pitch everyone fights for each other and we will continue to do so. I thought we controlled the match and I always thought we had a goal in us - but obviously it was a huge relief when Harry put the ball in the net.

Scott Chipperfield - midfielder Unbelievable! It was an up and down game. We didn't start well like we had in the previous games - we conceded the goal early and maybe it was a good thing as we started to play some good football and once we equalised I thought we could go on with it. But we conceded the second goal which was unfortunate but we always kept fighting until the end. Twice we went behind and twice we came back and that's just the mentality of this team - to keep in fighting.
