Mitch Langerak came off the bench to play for more than an hour in Borussia Dortmund-s 5-2 thrashing of rivals Bayern Munich in the German Cup final.

Dortmund took an early lead through Japan star Shinji Kagawa-s third-minute opener before Bayern grabbed their equaliser.

Former Melbourne Victory keeper Langerak was called into action, after Dortmund No.1 Roman Weidenfeller was injured in a challenge with Bayern striker Mario Gomez.

Holland star Arjen Robben converted the resulting penalty before Weidenfeller left the field, and Langerak came on.

Dortmund defender Mats Hummels-s penalty gave his side the lead again, while Robert Lewandowski scored before the break to make it 3-1.

France international Franck Ribery claimed one back for Bayern midway through the second half, before Lewandowski grabbed two more for a brilliant hat-trick to give Dortmund a famous victory, and Langerak his first silverware in Europe.
