A host of Westfield Matildas are set to line up in the National Women's Soccer League this weekend.
The action starts on Sunday morning (AEST) when Portland Thorns host Seattle Reign in the first Cascadia Clash of the season.
NAB Young Footballer of the Year Ellie Carpenter will be looking to make her first appearance for the Thorns, after being an unused substitute in last week's 1-1 draw with Utah Royals. Fellow Westfield Matildas stars Hayley Raso and Caitlin Foord remain sidelined for Portland due to injury.
Opposing Carpenter will be defender Steph Catley and goalkeeper Lydia Williams. Catley will be looking to make her second consecutive start for the Reign, while Williams will be attempting to usurp former Sydney FC goalkeeper Michelle Betos after sitting on the bench last round.
In New Jersey, Kyah Simon will be looking to help Houston Dash to their first victory of the season as they travel to the bottom of the table, Sky Blue FC.
After falling to runaway competition leaders North Carolina Courage 2-0 last weekend, Simon will be looking to provide a spark in attack for the Dash, who have netted just the solitary goal in their opening five matches.
Dynamic midfielder Katrina Gorry is another who will be looking to propel her team to a first victory of the campaign. Gorry's Utah Royals host Washington Spirit having drawn four of the five matches so far this season.
Gorry will be aiming for her first start for the Royals, after starting from the bench against the Thorns. Standing in between Gorry and success is Spirit goalkeeper, Aubrey Bledsoe, who has made 29 saves so far this season and has claimed the Save of the Week twice.
NWSL all-time leading goalscorer, Sam Kerr, will be looking to bounce back for Chicago Red Stars on Monday (AEST).
Chicago fell at home to Orlando Pride midweek, with Emily van Egmond providing the assist for the second goal in the 2-0 result.
The Red Stars will travel to North Carolina Courage in a top-of-the-table clash, looking to inflict Courage's first loss of the season.
