Australia lose to injury-time heartbreaker
Japan's injury time goal was enough to take the AFC Asian Cup
Australia lose out to a late-late winner from Tadanari Lee as their Asian Cup campaign ends in heartbreak.
After the 90 minutes ended in deadlock, it became apparent that one goal would win it or it'd be heading to the dreaded penalty shootout.
But in the 109th minute Japan grabbed the winner when an unmarked Tadanari Lee produced an excellent volley to give his side the title.
The Qantas Socceroos were looking the more likely side to take the match but a disciplined Japanese side just couldn't be broken down.
Japan have now won the trophy four times in their history.
