Middlesbrough continued its impressive start to its inaugural European campaign, inflicting a 2-0 defeat on Italian giant Lazio at Riverside Stadium.   Qantas Socceroo pair of Mark Schwarzer and Mark Viduka (pictured right) were prominent figures in Boro-s win, with Schwarzer always cool, calm and collected in goals, while Viduka always provided a handful for the Lazio defence and was close on a number of occasions to scoring. Middlesbrough is top of their group with two games and barring any major collapses, should qualify for the next round.   Parma got itself back into contention for a place in the next round, by winning 1-0 at home against Romanian side Steaua Bucuresti. Qantas Socceroo Vince Grella played a full game, while fellow Socceroo Marco Bresciano came on at half time to help Parma grab the winner with 10 minutes remaining. This could be the confidence boost the Italian team needs as it struggles at the foot of the Serie A.   It was an unhappy night for Patrick Kisnorbo after he was sent off for two yellow cards, the second for an alleged dive in the penalty area soon after half time. His dismissal changed the course of the game and Hearts was unable to hang on against Schalke 04 to lose 1-0. On replay, the decision looked harsh, although Kisnorbo later admitted he tried to milk it for all it was worth, which ultimately proved to his detriment.   The only other Aussies to feature in UEFA Cup action overnight, was Travis Dodd, who came on as a late replacement for Panionios, but was unable to prevent Sporting Lisbon running away with the game 4-1.   In yesterday-s European Champions League game, Qantas Socceroo Harry Kewell started for Liverpool with his cross in the 14th minute, proving crucial, as it was turned into his own net by Deportivo La Coruna defender Andrade. That proved to be the only goal of the game and keeps Liverpool-s hopes of progressing to the next round well and truly alive.
