Chidiac finds the net - and form - in Spain

Alex Chidiac has continued her meteoric rise for club and country after grabbing her third goal for Atlético Madrid in their 3-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.

The 19-year-old came on at half-time with the scores level after Ángeles had opened the scoring for Rayo Vallecano.

Goals to Olga García and Ana Marcos gave Atléti the lead, before Chidiac’s 90th-minute rocket to the top left corner ensured all three points for Los Rojiblancos.

That win put Atlético Madrid on 27 points, one point clear of FC Barcelona, who inflicted Atléti’s first loss of the season last round.

Chidiac is now averaging one goal every 103 minutes — a great return for the youngster yet to hit her twenties.

Luik not far behind

Chidiac’s Westfield Matilda teammate, Aivi Luik, came on for a red-hot Levante as they emerged 6-0 victors over Granadilla Tenerife.

The win comes off the back of a 7-0 thumping over Màlaga at home the week before, and a November that has thus far seen Levante score 13 goals and ship only two.

Ironically, those two goals came in a solitary loss to none other than Chidiac’s Atléti.
