National Under 17 coach Ange Postecoglou has named his starting eleven for the first game of the 2005 FIFA Under 17 World Championship against Turkey on Saturday morning (AEST).

Australian national Under 17 coach Ange Postecoglou has named his starting eleven for the first game of the 2005 FIFA Under 17 World Championship against Turkey, to be on Saturday morning (AEST).

Postecoglou has named two debutants in the eleven, Bolton Wanderers midfielder Scott Jamieson and Marconi Stallions striker Nathan Burns, for the crucial first up clash against the reigning Under 17 European Champions.

The starting eleven is: Alex Vrteski (gk); Jamie Cumming, Wade Oostendorp (vc), Matt Spiranovic, Joel Allwright, David D-Apuzzo, Kaz Patafta (c), Leigh Broxham, Scott Jamieson, Robbie Kruse, Nathan Burns

Apart from Jamieson and Burns, who have played together at the football stronghold Westfields Sport High in Sydney-s west, the remainder of the team have been involved with the 17-s virtually from the start.

The match will be shown live by SBS, with the kick-off at 8.00am on Saturday morning. The telecast will begin at 5.00am and will show the other group B match between Uruguay and Mexico.

Meanwhile, FIFA has ruled that Qantas Joeys striker David Williams is ineligible to compete at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru because he participated in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in The Netherlands in June.

This new eligibility regulation has been introduced for the 2005 edition of the FIFA U-17 World Championship.

The FFA were advised late last week of David's position and have been in discussions with FIFA since.

David was selected in the Australian U-20 squad that went to the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in The Netherlands, however did not take the field in any of the matches. FFA have argued that on this basis he should not be considered as having "taken part" in the World Youth Championships in the terms of the regulations but FIFA have now confirmed that David is ineligible.

There will not be a replacement player however the FFA are continuing to pursue the matter with FIFA.
