Destiny 06 – 3 Days To Go

We continue the countdown to the World Cup (South American) play-off kick-off of the 1st Leg being played in Montevideo (Saturday 12 November), bringing you up-to-date with all the headline news from around the country surrounding the crucial play-off matches.

Socceroos WATCH

Marco Bresciano is unlikely to figure in the first game, with Guus Hiddink hinting that he will save him for the second leg. Bresciano twisted his ankle for Parma last weekend and hasn-t been able to train properly with the team so far, since arriving in Argentina.

Other injury concerns, Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson and Bresciano-s Parma team mate Vince Grella both joined in full training on Wednesday.

WHAT-S MAKING THE NEWS

KICK-OFF TIME FINALLY DECIDED

FIFA has confirmed the time for the kick-off of the first leg in Montevideo as 6.00pm (7.00am Sunday 13th November AESDT).

The FFA was looking for a 7.00pm kick-off, while Uruguay was persisting that they wanted to change it back from 9.00pm to 5.00pm, so it could make its connecting flight that night, to fly to Australia for the second leg. 

FINAL RELEASE TICKETS ALMOST SOLD

Almost all tickets that were issued as final release today have been sold, with just over 1,000 site restricted seats remaining to be sold and expected to sell very quickly.

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketek for what is surely going to be the sporting event of the year.

SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK (TELSTRA STADIUM) LIVE SITE

Those football fans that cannot purchase tickets but still want to enjoy the atmosphere of the Telstra Stadium precinct, can do so by watching the game from the FREE LIVE SITE in the overflow area.

Up to 12,000 additional fans, on top of the 80,000+ fans that will pack Telstra Stadium, will make the precinct the hub of Sydney next Wednesday night and will create a unique atmosphere rarely seen at a sporting event in Australia.

The live site will include a 7 x 4 metre screen to watch the game, live bands, food stalls and bars and the chance to be part of what will be a wonderful celebration, culminating in qualification for Germany 06.

The live site area will commence at 5.00pm.
