Socceroos Head Coach Pim Verbeek has added Bruce Djite to his squad for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Asian group qualifier round 4 match against Uzbekistan in Sydney on Wednesday 1 April 2009.

Djite, who currently plays for Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Super Lig, has made seven (7) appearances for the Qantas since debuting in 2008.

The former Adelaide United striker has been a regular for Genclerbirligi since his move last year, although of late he has been coming off the bench, with fellow Aussie James Troisi getting regular starts in his place.

In addition, Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Danny Vukovic and Newcastle Jets captain Matt Thompson will train with the Socceroos in Sydney and Adelaide United Head Coach Auerlio Vidmar will also join the camp as a technical observer as part of a professional coaching development initiative.

The Socceroos are currently at the top of Group A of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Asian Qualifiers (10points), with Japan second (8 pts) followed by Bahrain (4 pts), Qatar (4pts) and Uzbekistan (1pt).

Before heading to Sydney, Uzbekistan will host Qatar in Tashkent on Saturday 28 March, whilst Japan and Bahrain meet in Saitama City, Japan on the same day.

All Socceroos matches are broadcast live and exclusive on FOX Sports.
