Qantas Socceroos fans ramped up the atmosphere ahead of Australia-s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Japan in Brisbane on Tuesday.

As part of the build-up towards the massive game, Socceroos and Japan fans went head-to-head in Brisbane-s Queen St Mall to see who could scream the loudest.

Japan have extremely colourful and notoriously passionate fans who will be out in force for the event, and a search has been on to find local Aussies who reckon they can give them a run for their money.

Qantas Socceroo Tommy Oar was on hand to watch the fans battle it out.

“I wish the boys luck in Oman tonight and can-t wait to see the team in action in my home town,” Oar said.

“I love being back home and it-s great to have the team playing in Brisbane”

Both sets of fans were winners on the night with Heidi Pozzan screaming loudest for the Qantas Socceroos, and Hiroyuki Ueda making all the noise for Japan.
