FFA Re-opens Football Family

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced that it will re-open its highly successful “Football Family” initiative ahead of the forthcoming Australia v Greece international.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced that it will re-open its highly successful “Football Family” initiative ahead of the forthcoming Australia v Greece international.

The Football Family concept was created last year, and allowed 16,000 registered participants and fans to receive priority access to Australia-s sell-out World Cup Qualifying decider against Uruguay. Having registered at www.MyFootball.com.au, they bought some 35,000 tickets before the remaining seats were put on general sale to the public.

The Australia v Greece match, at the MCG on May 25, is set to rival the Uruguay qualifier for demand. It will be the only time that the World Cup qualified Socceroos will appear in Australia before the FIFA World Cup. The World Cup squad itself will take on European Champions Greece, in a match that is being viewed by the Socceroos as the start of their World Cup campaign. Indeed, the World Cup team will fly directly from Melbourne the day after the Greece match, to their European World Cup base.

“Now that the Football Family concept is well-understood there has been great demand for it to be re-opened,” said FFA CEO John O-Neill. “While the original members joined from all over the country, the majority were naturally from New South Wales. With such a significant match taking place in Melbourne in May, we felt it only appropriate to re-open registrations, to allow all Australian Football participants and fans to take advantage of special priority access to the best available seats for this and all future Qantas Socceroo matches in Australia.”

Football Family registration will re-open permanently from March 7th. Existing Football Family members, and new participants and fans registered at www.MyFootball.com.au before March 21st will be given priority access to the May 25 Greece match. Their priority booking period will be March 27, 28 and 29 with the remaining tickets going on sale to the general public from April 4th. Full details are available at www.MyFootball.com.au.
