Good seats in all categories are still available but they are selling fast and the restricted view seating (see interpretation at bottom of article) is the final release of tickets for the match, which will feature football superstars like Vince Grella and Mark Bresciano of the Socceroos and Carlos Tevez and Lionel Messi of Argentina.
The match also marks the final appearance in the green and gold of one of Victoria-s favourite sons, Josip Skoko. The last time Skoko played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, he scored a magical winner against Greece and no doubt he will be looking to make his final appearance for the Socceroos a memorable one.
Along with Skoko, Grella and Bresciano, who are all from Melbourne, other locals that will feature in the match include Scott McDonald, Josh Kennedy, Patrick Kisnorbo, Simon Colosimo and Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson.
Kennedy, who was a sensation at the 2006 World Cup finals, has not made an appearance since then, after getting injured in his first training session with FC Nurnberg in Germany, missing a year of football in the process. But the 6-4 striker is back in the frame after getting back into the first team at Nurnberg at the start of the Bundesliga season and looking forward to donning the green and gold again.
Argentina is bringing a near full strength squad for the match and Australian fans will never get a better opportunity to watch up close, the mercurial talents of Manchester United-s Tevez and Barcelona-s Messi, who are ranked among the best players in the world. Many believe Messi will one day be the world-s greatest player, given he has just turned 20 and is nowhere near at the peak of his potential.
This is the biggest match of the year to be played in Australia and should not be missed.
