Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck today confirmed that Tim Cahill would not travel to Dusseldorf to join the squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Germany at Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach on Tuesday 29 March 2011.

Cahill is still recovering from a foot injury and after consultation with Tim and his club, Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck has decided that he would not be required in camp.

Osieck has selected an additional three players to join the Qantas Socceroos following the recent national teams training camp which was held last week in Duisburg. Midfielder James Holland will join the Qantas Socceroos squad after last playing against Slovenia in August 2010, whilst fellow midfielder Adam Sarota and Danish-based forward Brent McGrath have both received their first ever call-up for the Qantas Socceroos.

Germany finished in 3rd place at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, is currently ranked 3rd in the FIFA World Rankings and most recently drew 1-1 with Italy in a friendly match last month. Germany will play Kazakhstan tonight in a UEFA Championship qualifier in Kaiserslautern.

This will be the fourth meeting of the two nations at senior men-s international level with the Germans victorious on each of the three previous occasions which includes their 4-0 victory over the Qantas Socceroos at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.

The Qantas Socceroos will have their first training session this afternoon at the Paul-Janes Stadion in Dusseldorf.
