There's huge excitement in Victoria as the Westfield Matildas head to Melbourne and Geelong for two friendlies with China PR in November.
Here are some need to know facts around the Chinese team.
RANKINGS
The Matildas are ranked higher currently. Australia is sixth in the world versus China PR’s 13. The average position for the Chinese since rankings began is 12 (their highest being fifth in 2003).
PREPARATION
China PR will be well prepared with three friendlies in October set down against Korea DPR, Mexico and Brazil, all in China. In fact, this calendar year sees them play over 20 games including the two against the Aussies in Victoria in November.
LAST TIME THEY FACED THE AUSSIES
This was at the Algarve Cup last March, losing 2-1 in Albufeira.Wang Shanshan with China PR's opening goal though that was cancelled out by a fast-finishing Australia with goals to Ellie Carpenter and Emily Gielnik.
LAST FOUR FRIENDLY RESULTS
In April, China PR defeated Croatia at home 2-0 and 2-1. They then lost to Korea DPR 1-0 in Duyun in June but beat Finland 4-2 in Changzhou three days later.
BIGGEST CHINA PR WIN IN 2017
This was a 5-0 hammering of Ukraine last January in a friendly played in Foshan.
RIO 2016 OLYMPICS
China lost to hosts Brazil 3-0, beat South Africa 2-0 and drew with Sweden 0-0 in the group stage. They were eliminated in the quarter finals to Germany 1-0.
