QANTAS Socceroo Vince Grella will continue his career in the Italian Serie A after a move was completed for the midfielder to join top flight club Parma, just prior to the transfer deadline. The 24 year old was plying his trade with Empoli who were relegated from the top division last season. Grella, has been linked to several clubs over the off-season, but the move to Parma will see him play in European competition. The move also re-unites him with fellow Qantas Socceroo and best mate Marco Bresciano, who moved to Parma last season. Both players have a history of playing at the same club, firstly at the AIS, then with Carlton in the NSL and together at Empoli for a number of years. Meanwhile, QANTAS Socceroo Tim Cahill has told Everton FC-s website that he was delighted with the way his new team performed in his debut for the club on Monday. Everton held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford to continue their promising start to the season. Cahill told the website, “The biggest thing for me was being part of the squad, actually being named to start was amazing”. Cahill received a call up to the starting line up due to an injury to Danish International Thomas Gravesen. “I-m very happy I got my chance and I-ll be looking forward to getting many more”, Cahill told evertonfc.com. Cahill was impressive for the Toffees and was replaced in the 70th minute suffering from minor cramps. He will now join his Socceroo teammates in London for a four day training camp beginning tonight.
