Guus Hiddink today expressed some concern over the fitness of key player Harry Kewell and the crucial lead in time he will miss leading up the first game against Japan.

Kewell, who injured his groin in Liverpool-s FA Cup Final victory, will miss the Australian leg of the World Cup preparation camp and join the squad in Mierlo (Holland) next weekend.

Up until then he is receiving round the clock treatment from Liverpool staff and Australian team physio Arno Phillips.

Hiddink-s main concern is the valuable time he will miss in the lead up to the first match against Japan on June 12, where working on team strategies is vitally important.

“I know a little (of his condition), but I'm a little bit concerned how his development will be," Hiddink said.

"He can be fit just before the starting game (Japan), but we are also now starting here is not only building up the physical condition, but working on the tactics and strategies towards the first game.

"When a player is not available it has a limitation, but overall I hope he will recover."

Australia-s other major injury concern Tim Cahill, arrived in camp with the rest of the squad today and while he will not play against Greece, Hiddink remains hopeful he will be right to start training soon after they arrive in Holland.

“Tim is here in camp with us; he is doing his own program and we hope to have him fit as soon as possible,” said an upbeat Hiddink. “Apparently not this week for playing a game.

“He is working hard on his recovery and will see how his development will be in Mierlo.”

The team will have its first training session tomorrow and will have its only public appearance prior to the Greece game at Federation square at 1.30pm.
