Hiddink has been working hard with the players on the technical aspects of their game in the past few days, varying the training match situations based on different formation they might face on Sunday and against Japan in 12 days time.

"What I should like, is seeing an Australian team, who respond well on the press that they (Holland) obviously will make. If we can respond not just by sitting back, not just by kicking away in all the panic situations, which will happen.

"I don-t think Holland will make any changes to their philosophy, their strategy, so they will go on full attack.

"If we can manage to control and in some parts of the game, dominate and create a few chances, because in these games you won-t get many chances. If I can see a team which is well organised, I don-t want to see a team that is just sitting back and waiting for the danger to happen."

"It always depends on the opponent. Of course we like to impose our way of playing also, but defensively we have to be in control, whether they play with one striker or three strikers or two strikers.

"That-s why we are practicing almost everyday to control the system they play. But we like to impose, it-s a little bit the Australian mentality, is not just waiting and sitting back, but if possible we like to make the initiative."

The match is also a significant for Hiddink, as for the first time he will face Holland as opposition coach.

"It-s a special game, because for the first time in my career I play against the Dutch national team.

"There are many players, although of course I know all the players, but I have worked with several players of this squad. It-s special, special."

Asked how to beat Holland, Hiddink responded with some dry humour, "by scoring one goal more than them, but that-s an easy answer."
