The eighth edition of the tournament will be held from June 7 to July 7, 2019, with 24 nations to compete to be crowned world champions.

In 2015, Australia finished second in their group behind the United States, earning them a Round of 16 clash with Brazil.

Kyah Simon’s 80th-minute strike sent Westfield Matildas fans into raptures and earned the side their first knockout stage win at the tournament, setting up a quarter-final against Japan.

That was as far as the Westfield Matildas would get as Mana Iwabuchi’s strike on 87 minutes saw Australia eliminated.

The Westfield Matildas are four years wiser and stronger - can we go one step further than last time?
