A host of Westfield Matildas will be in action as we approach the final stages of Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season.

The Sydney Derby on Thursday night can boast up to five Australian representatives while Melbourne City’s clash with Brisbane Roar will feature some key Westfield Matildas on both sides.

Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers

No matter how these sides are travelling the Harbour City always stops when Sydney and the Wanderers clash.

Both sides are in contrasting form with Sydney on the cusp of the top four while Western Sydney are yet to claim a victory.

The Sky Blues will have a glut of Westfield Matildas in contention with Allana Kennedy, Lisa De Vanna, Caitlin Foord, Princess Ibini and Chloe Logarzo all set to line-up at Leichhardt Oval.

Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City are separated by a mere point, sitting in fourth and fifth place respectively on the Westfield W-League ladder.

The Roar will be missing one of their Westfield Matildas regulars after Katrina Gorry was last week ruled out of the remainder of the season with an ankle injury but will still have experienced defender Clare Polkinghorne to call upon.

City meanwhile will have Tameka Butt and Elie Kellond-Knight in midfield as well as Lydia Williams a safe pair of hands in goal.

Newcastle must defeat the travelling Perth Glory to have any hope of being part of this year’s Westfield W-League finals series.

Achieving that will no doubt require the efforts of Westfield Matildas duo Emily Van Egmond and Larissa Crummer.

Glory’s sole Australian representative needs no introduction, it i, of course,e Sam Kerr. The marquee striker currently leads the Golden Boot race with nine goals and will be looking to ensure her good start to 2019 continues.

Canberra United v Adelaide United
Sunday, 4:00pm AEDT

Canberra are in a similar position to the Jets and effectively must win their remaining three matches to be in with a shout for post-season action.

The Reds’ Westfield Matildas’ sole representative is ex-Canberra striker Michelle Heyman and the 30-year old will return to the city she called home for eight years for the first time since departing last year.
