"Well going back about six months, and it really has been that long, is when I initially tore my hamstring, and I haven-t been back in action since.
“Not only have I missed out on most of this season-s Premier League games with Coventry, but I wasn-t able to make myself available for Australia, and that really hurt, because I was looking forward to playing against the likes of Brazil, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
“I really thought I-d be back on the park at the beginning of this month, but I suffered a bit of a set back, I was nearly back to full training when I felt something again, and I had a scan immediately which didn-t show any kind of re-tear, and now I-m back out running again, so hopefully it was just a case of training too much.
“My first thoughts were that I-d done the same thing again and that I-d be out for rest of season but thankfully that wasn-t the case, it-s just shown me yet again that I just have to be very careful and not push myself too quickly.
“I-m pretty frustrated at the moment with the waiting period, but I think it-s normal to be impatient, after all it-s been 6 months, and I remember the game where I got injured so well, even though we lost to Leeds, I-d scored two goals, and everything seemed to be going so right.
“The hamstring tear is very similar to the one that Michael Owens had, but the specialists here told me it didn-t need an operation, and it has got better so I think that was the best option.
“Basically, I-ve spent a lot of time recently doing weights and making everyone-s life miserable - my wife Angela is copping the worst of it, but once I get back on the park playing she-ll be OK - and she can-t wait!!
