Katrina Gorry's best Westfield W-League moments

Westfield Matildas star Katrina Gorry will join a select group of players to have reached 100 appearances in the Westfield W-League if she features in Sunday's clash with Perth Glory.

Synonymous with spectacular goals, the dynamic 26-year-old Australia international laid her career foundations with Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory before moving on to team success at Brisbane Roar.

She has become a household name in Australian football and still has plenty to offer ahead of her Round 1 milestone at the fitting setting of Suncorp Stadium.

Join us in looking back on some of Gorry's finest moments in her domestic career to date.

Immediate success on Queensland homecoming

Gorry was an instant hit upon linking with her hometown team for the 2012/13 Season.

The Brisbane local joined Roar for the Westfield W-League 2012/13 Season and started 11 times, scoring twice.

Both strikes were essential to the club's Premiership success and maiden trophy of her senior career.

The first was a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw with a Perth Glory side that finished two points behind in second, while the second was the opener in a 5-1 crushing of Canberra United that sealed the silverware on the final weekend on the season.

Triple treat leads terrific turnaround

Alongside long-term team-mate Tameka Butt, who has since moved on to Melbourne City, Gorry has always had a knock of contributing goals from midfield.

That was never more evident than in her sparkling hat-trick away to Western Sydney Wanderers in December 2013.

With the visitors trailing at the break at Marconi Stadium, Gorry led a sensational recovery as she first earned and converted a penalty before scoring another two late goals to complete an incredible 4-1 victory.

It was Gorry at her absolute best and came a week after a starring role in the Westfield Matildas' 2-0 win over China.

Extraordinary strike goes viral

The scorer of 14 international goals has never been shy to unleash audacious shots from distance.

With good reason, too, as she has regularly demonstrated her ability to score absolute stunners for club and country.

Perhaps the pick of Gorry's breathtaking goals was a long-range bomb against Canberra United that made international headlines in November 2014.

From 35 yards out, she took touches before letting fly on an absolute bullet that dipped and swerved under the crossbar and inside the right post.

One day later, Gorry flew to the AFC Annual Awards in the Philippines and was crowned AFC Women's Player of the Year.

Snapping the City curse

Brisbane had never beaten powerhouse club Melbourne City prior to their landmark encounter at Suncorp Stadium on December 2017.

It was a mental obstacle that needed clearing and Gorry was up to the challenge.

Having seen Allira Toby open the scoring on the hour, Roar's midfield ace took charge to quickly seal the deal.

Gorry, stationed over a free-kick well outside the area, cleverly dropped a curling delivery into the box that deceived Lydia Williams and crept inside the far post.

The typically canny piece of play made safe a memorable 2-0 victory.

More silverware to savour in the Sunshine State

Five years on from Roar's previous regular-season triumph, Gorry was there again as Melissa Andreatta's side secured Premiership success in 2017/18.

The Westfield Matildas regular started the campaign in much the way she ended it by netting in the very first minute of a 3-1 win at Sydney FC.

That result set the platform for an unexpected surge to top spot, culminating in the collection of the trophy after a 4-1 defeat of Canberra United in Round 14.

Gorry - now a mature, tenacious leader in the middle of the pitch - started every match and chipped in with two goals along the way.
