Kerr equals NWSL goal-scoring record

Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr’s incredible goal-scoring form has continued after netting the winner in Sky Blue FC’s clash with Boston Breakers in the NWSL on Sunday (AEST).

The red-hot attacker found the target in just the fifth minute and it proved decisive as Sky Blue held on for a hard-fought 1-0 win.

Kerr was played in behind by Nikki Stanton before skipping past goalkeeper Abby Smith and slotting into an empty net.

Kerr’s strike took her tally to 16 goals for the campaign, equaling Kim Little’s all-time record for most strikes in a single season.

And the 23-year-old will fancy her chances of setting a new record with four matches still remaining in the NWSL regular season.
