Socceroos star Harry Kewell has confirmed his signing with Turkish champions Galatasaray overnight.

Kewell has signed a two-year deal with the club, ending his five-year injury-riddled chapter with Liverpool.

While the move will surprise many, for Kewell it-s a new chapter and one he is looking forward to.

“It's a new chapter for me, I'm looking forward to it,” he told Sky Sports News. “They've got a great young squad, I'm looking forward to meeting with the boys and training with them.

“They're a great club, they showed faith from the very start. There were other clubs out there but they were persistent and treated me very courteously.

“There are a lot of nice people over here, it's a great country and I'm looking forward to it.”

Kewell recently played a major role in getting Australia through to the next round of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the move is expected to see the striker get regular first team action, plus play in the European Champions League.
