Kewell on the mark in Europa League

Qantas Socceroo Harry Kewell continued his goal scoring form overnight in the Europa League, with his third goal in his past two matches in Galatasaray-s 5-0 romp against FC Levadia Tallin.

Kewell started on the bench against the Finnish side, despite his two goals in the weekend Turkish League win, coming on the 62nd minute and scoring Gala-s fourth goal of the evening in the 78th minute.

It was also a good night for Tim Cahill and Mark Schwarzer, with Everton winning 4-0 at home against Czech side SK Sigma Olomouc, while Fulham did it comfortably in a 3-1 win over Russian side FC Amkar Perm.

Cahill played a full game, as Everton completely overwhelmed the Czech side and Schwarzer put in a full shift, but will have been disappointed to concede a late goal to the Russians, which gives them a sniff a clawing back the result in the return leg.

Scott Chipperfield also played a full game for FC Basel in a good 3-1 away win over Azerbaijan side FK Baki.

It wasn-t a great night for two of Schwarzer-s Australian deputies Ante Covic and Michael Petkovic with both IF Elfsborg and Sivasspor facing a mountain to climb to advance to the Group phase.

Covic-s Elfsborg lost 3-0 away at S.S. Lazio, while Petkovic will miss the return leg after getting a red card in the dying stages of its match against Ukraine side FC Shakhtar Donetsk, which the visitors won 3-0.
