Qantas Socceroo Harry Kewell has been named in the Liverpool traveling squad for the Champions League semi-final first leg clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, tomorrow morning (AEST).

Kewell (pictured right), who has made just two appearances for Liverpool since Christmas, was included by boss Rafael Benitez, despite still being troubled by as series of injuries.

According to Benitez, Kewell told him that he was willing to risk further injury problems to help Liverpool through its current injury crisis. He has been training for a few weeks, after seeing a specialist in Spain.

Benitez said, ”He has been training for a few weeks and although he would not be able to start the match he could play for 20 or even 40 minutes.

“He came to me and said he was fit if I wanted him. Having him back is a boost for the whole squad.”

Meanwhile Kewell-s Qantas Socceroo teammate Brett Emerton put a further dent in West Bromwich Albion-s hopes of survival in the Premier League, with an equalising goal at the Hawthorne-s.

West Brom took a first half lead, but Emerton drilled his second half shot past keeper Russell Hoult, to level it for Blackburn.

The match finished 1-1, with the point drawing Brom level with Norwich and Crystal Palace, although they remain in the relegation zone, courtesy of an inferior goal difference.
