Holman was amongst the goalscorers for NEC Nijmegen as they virtually ensured their place in the UEFA Cup next season with a 6-0 thrashing of NAC Breda in the first leg.

The attacking midfielder scored NEC-s third goal in the 50th minute, as they romped away in the second half and make their place in next season-s UEFA Cup almost a foregone conclusion.

Kilkenny, who moved to League One side Leeds United for more first team football, played a full game, As Leeds overturned a 2-1 deficit from the first leg, to win 2-0 at Carlisle.

The win (3-2 on aggregate) now sees them one-game away from returning to the Championship and they will play the winner of the other semi final play-off between Doncaster and Southend.

Meanwhile, former Qantas Socceroo midfielder Josip Skoko has been released by Wigan Athletic. Skoko was hoping for an extension to his contract at Wigan, but it not forthcoming after only figuring intermittently during the season.
