The Qantas Joeys completed there last group stage match with a 1-1 draw against Singapore at Lebak Bulus Stadium in Jakarta last night.

The Qantas Joeys completed their last group stage match with a 1-1 draw against Singapore at Lebak Bulus Stadium in Jakarta last night.

Despite a lack lustre first half performance by the Joeys, they went to the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a header from Kerem Bulut from Koh Satake corner kick in the 41st minute.

The introduction of Nikola Stanejovic and Marc Warren at half time to spark the Joeys to life, but it was Singapore that came out and got the perfect start with an equalizer within a minute of the restart from Muhammad Muhaymin Salim.

The Joeys proceeded to dominate the remainder of the game creating many scoring opportunities, but it just wouldn-t fall for them.

Bulut went closest to the winner, when his shot in the 76th minute came back off the post.

“We created plenty of chances although we played better in the second half than we did in the first half,” said Qantas Joeys coach Martyn Crook, after the game.

“But I have no problem with the score line as it showed to the players that we can slip up if we do not play well throughout the whole 90 minutes.”

The Joeys now enjoy a 4-day break while awaiting there opponents in Saturday-s final. They will play either Bahrain or Malaysia who fight it out in Thursday-s final round.
