Sarah Walsh and I have been appointed by the FFA to co-ordinate the Illicit Drugs in Sport and Club Champions program.
As part of our roles, we-ll organise for Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League players to attend and deliver an important message about illicit drugs and alcohol safety.
The roles are permanent part-time to allow for both Walshy and I to continue our studies and, of course, incorporate our football.
I am based in Sydney for the first part of the week and Canberra for the latter. At the moment I am couch surfing with some lovely pals near the beach and am soon to find a place of my own.
By Wednesday I return to my family in Canberra so that I can train with Canberra United and prepare for games of a weekend. I end up missing just one session, which I make up for in Sydney on my own. I wonder how long this will be a novelty for ;)
Walshy is based in Sydney, and she tends to float through the office towards the end of the week. Today she has spoilt me with her presence, so we thought what better opportunity than to pose for some pics? Of course, we actually work—this was during our morning tea break, promise :)
Both Walshy and I complement each other in sharing the role. Walshy specialises in the marketing area and I do in the media area. We are both very excited about our new jobs and look forward to where it takes us.
