The Socceroos are continuing their preparations for Saturday's match against Singapore with coach Graham Arnold putting the team through a rigorous training schedule. Since arriving in camp on 21 June the team has gone through two training sessions a day as they build fitness and acclimatise to the hot conditions.

All players are in camp ahead of the AFC Asian Cup except for John Aloisi who will join the team on 2 July due to the late finish of his club commitments in Spain.

Midfielder Vincenzo Grella has said the team must remain focussed on the first match and not look further into the tournament.

"It's important that we respect the opposition teams and not get ahead of ourselves," said Grella.

"This is the first time we have been in this tournament and it will be new to us so we need to maintain our focus at all times."

"There are quality teams in the Asian Cup and it starts with Oman."

Australia will complete their preparations in Singapore with a match against their national team on Saturday and a game against the Singapore under 23s on Sunday.
