Football fans have the opportunity on Monday 24 July to secure public tickets for the Socceroos Asian Cup qualifying fixture against Bahrain to be played at Sydney-s Aussie Stadium on Wednesday, October 11.
This match will be the Socceroos final game in Australia this year.
The Football Family has again responded positively to their exclusive ticketing window and an estimated 12,000 public tickets will be available for public purchase on Monday 24 July.
The match will be pivotal in the Socceroos quest to qualify for the Asian Cup finals to be played in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam in July, 2007.
The Socceroos will enter the game confident of success after defeating Bahrain 3-1 in the opening Asian Cup qualifying game in Manama earlier this year.
Bahrain narrowly missed a FIFA World Cup finals berth in Germany when beaten 1-0 in the second leg tie by Dwight Yorke-s Trinidad and Tobago team.
The Asian Cup is one of the world football-s biggest events. The 2004 Asian Cup final between Japan and China was watched by a cumulative TV audience of 748 million viewers.
Football Federation Australia Chief Executive, Mr John O-Neill, praised the public-s rising support and recognition for the Socceroos and urged fans to end the domestic international season in style.
“The fans united support for the Socceroos both at home and in Germany during the FIFA World Cup has been simply outstanding,” said Mr O-Neill.
“As has been regularly recognised by the players themselves, this level of support has been the Socceroos 12th man.
“We have had a tremendous ticketing response for our initial two home Asian Cup qualifying games and we are fortunate to have a third home game - a second fixture at Sydney-s Aussie Stadium - to satisfy the fans demand.
“This match against Bahrain will allow fans, who are unable to attend the Kuwait and Lebanon games, to secure their seat and see their Socceroos heroes in action and cheer them towards Asian Cup qualifying success.
