Qantas Socceroos midfielder James Troisi is reportedly close to realising a dream and joining Italian giants Juventus.

The 24-year-old is understood to be part of a deal that will bring Pescara's midfielder Marco Verratti to Juve, while Troisi is expected to be loaned to Pescara.

Juventus's sporting director Fabio Paratici met Troisi's agent in Milan's Hilton Hotel in order to find a deal for the 24-year-old Australia international, whose contract with Turkish club Kayserispor expires on June 30 following a pay dispute.

Juventus would then loan Troisi to Pescara for a season as part of the transfer for Delfini's midfielder Marco Verratti.

The move is boosted by Troisi's European heritage, as his father and mother are from Italy and Greece respectively, which allows him to be considered an European Union signing if an agreement can be reached.
