The Qantas Socceroos want to hear from Brisbane-s loudest Socceroo fans ahead of the match against Japan in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier being played at Brisbane Stadium on Tuesday 12 June.

The ‘Scream for your Team- event will be held at 12.30pm on Friday 8 June at Reddacliff Place in front of Treasury Casino.

Aussie fans will be screaming their support for the Socceroos against Japanese counterparts making noise for the Blue Samarui.

Fans will have the opportunity to “kit up” in national colours and test their tonsils by screaming into a specially built decibel meter.

The top three loudest fans will win double passes to a VIP box at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier.

At the same event there will also be merchandise prizes on offer and the chance to meet current Qantas Socceroo and former Brisbane Roar star, Tommy Oar plus former Brisbane Strikers star and current Fox Sports commentator, Nick Meredith.

Kyle Patterson, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications for the FFA said:

“The Socceroos get a huge lift from passionate and noisy home fans, so we want to find the loudest fans in Brisbane and get them to the game.

“Anyone who wants to scream for their nation should be at Reddacliff Place on Friday 8 June at 12.30pm.

“We-re looking for fans to get into the groove with face paint, wigs and inflatable kangaroos. It will be a lot of fun and it will be noisy!”

All Australian fans are urged to come and cheer for Australia in person when they take on the Blue Samurai of Japan at 8pm on Tuesday 12 June. Tickets are selling fast but still available by clicking here.
