Westfield Junior Matildas hit double figures...again!

The Westfield Junior Matildas have cruised to yet another big win, with a 10-0 victory over Kyrgyz Republic on Friday night.

It follows consecutive 11-0 wins over Indonesia and Palestine, and makes it now 32 goals scored in three games.

There were six different goalscorers, and two players who bagged hat-tricks: Josie Morley and Paige Zois.

INDONESIA: Junior Matildas hit 11 goals

RASO: Broken back, rehab, the FIFA World Cup and Olympics

It was Morley who got the scoring underway in just the fourth minute of play, before Alana Jancevski scored in the 32nd minute to double the advantage.

Josie Morley scored her second in the 38th minute to give the Aussies a 3-0 lead at the break, and they’d come alive in the second half.

Four goals in eight minutes, including an incredible quick-fire hat-trick to Paige Zois and a goal to substitute Charlie Farmer stretched Australia’s lead to 7-0.

Substitutes Jordan Jasnos and Tijan McKenna chipped in with goals of their own too, before Morley completed the route and her hat-trick with the final goal of the evening in the 84th minute.

“Today was another football experience and learning opportunity for the players against the Kyrgyz Republic in front of a parochial home crowd. It was a positive performance and I’m immensely proud of the team,” said Junior Matildas coach Rae Dower.

“We’ve now had all 23 players debut for their country across the three games, had a number of multiple goal scorers and managed another clean sheet.

“We know our finishing wasn’t as clinical as we would have liked today and credit must go to the Kyrgyz goalkeeper who was outstanding for them in goals. We will look to improve in all aspects on Sunday when we take on Chinese Taipei.”
