Westfield Matildas ranked ten

The Westfield Matildas now sit at ten on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, a drop of one place since the last figures were announced in June.

Australia slipped narrowly behind former world and Olympic champions Norway who, like all European nations, have been heavily involved in 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers over the past few months.

The Westfield Matildas, having moved up two spots in June, remain second among AFC nations behind only world champions Japan who are ranked third behind runaway leaders USA and Germany.

The next edition of the Ranking will be announced on December 19, two weeks after the draw for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
