Westfield Matilda's stunner in NWSL

Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr has continued her impressive form in the USA with a stunning strike in the NSWL on Thursday (AEST).

With scores locked at 1-1, Kerr gave Sky Blue FC the lead over Orlando Pride with a spectacular bicycle kick just after the half-time interval.

The 23-year-old wriggled free of her defender inside the box and launched herself at a loose ball, burying an acrobatic effort past Pride keeper Aubrey Bledsoe.

But Kerr’s strike wasn’t enough to hand Sky Blue FC victory, with Orlando netting twice in the final 13 minutes to snatch a dramatic 3-2 win.

Matildas teammate Steph Catley played a full game for Orlando and provided the crucial assist for the Pride’s third goal.
