The Westfield Matildas will take on Thailand in the second match of their 2012 London Olympic Games Asian qualification campaign on September 3 at the Jinan Olympic Sports Centre, China.

The team will be looking for a win to revitalise their Olympic qualification hopes, having narrowly lost their first match to DPR Korea 0-1.

Head coach Tom Sermanni said, "I think the important thing for us is to bounce back after the DPR game."

The Westfield Matildas have prevailed in all three previous matches against Thailand, and Thailand were defeated 3-0 by recently crowned world champions Japan in their first match of the tournament.

But Sermanni said that there were no easy matches and that Thailand should not be underestimated.

"Thailand may be seen as the weaker team in this tournament, but they have improved quite significantly over the last four or five years," he said. "They are an opponent we can't afford to take lightly."

The Westfield Matildas will play a total of five matches in 11 days, with the teams that finish in the top two qualifying for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The Westfield Matildas will meet 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup champions Japan, who finished third in the Asian Cup, as well as South Korea and China.
