Tickets to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ include public transport, and we've pulled together a guide on how to get to all of the stadiums in Australia via public transport. Whether you are a local or visiting for the first time we have everything you need to know! 

Please note - host cities are listed in alphabetical order. 

Adelaide / Tarntanya - Hindmarsh Stadium

A classic Australian venue, Hindmarsh Stadium has been hosting matches since the 1960s.

A total of five games will head to Adelaide's Hindmarsh Stadium during the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, split across four group-stage affairs and one knockout round match.

Tram:
The Tram is the cheapest and most convenient way to travel to and from Hindmarsh Stadium from Adelaide city centre. The tram station located closest to the stadium is situated in front of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre which is approximately a 300m walk to the Stadium.

Train:
The Bowden Train Station is within approximately 400m of the stadium.

Buses:
There are a number of bus stops located within close proximity (300m) of the stadium. Bus routes directly passing the Stadium include 115, 150, and 157.

Brisbane / Meaanjin - Brisbane Stadium

Brisbane’s long-serving major football ground is Queensland’s premier sports and outdoor concert venue.

Eight games will take place at Brisbane Stadium during the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™. Five of those will come during the group stage - including Australia's matchday two meeting with Nigeria - while the Play-off for third place will round off the arena's three knockout fixtures.

Buses:

Patrons can catch a regular timetabled bus services operated by Brisbane City Council. In addition, special event shuttle bus services from the City, Carindale, Eight Mile Plains/Mt Gravatt (Garden City), Chermside and The Gap run directly to the Stadium. Click here for more info.

Trains:

Milton and Roma Street are the main railway stations for patrons travelling to and from Suncorp Stadium.

  • To the game: Patrons can catch regular, timetabled services to either Roma Street or Milton Stations.
  • From the game: Additional services to those scheduled will be provided on all lines to meet post-match demand.

Melbourne / Naarm - Melbourne Rectangular Stadium

Opened in 2010, Melbourne Rectangular Stadium is an integral part of the city’s impressive collection of sports venues.

Melbourne Rectangular Stadium will host six FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Australia & New Zealand™ matches, including Australia's heavyweight Group B finale with Canada.

Train:
The stadium is located near three train stations: 

  • Richmond Station 
  • Jolimont Station 
  • Flinders Street Station  

Tram:

  • Tram 70 (Wattle Park) from Flinders Street and Richmond Stations. These stop at Rod Laver Arena (Stop 7B), John Cain Arena (Stop 7C) and AAMI Park (Stop 7D).   
  • Tram 48 (North Balwyn) and Tram 75 (Vermont South). These stop adjacent to the MCG on Wellington Parade.   

Buses:

  • Bus 246 (Latrobe Uni – Elsternwick Station) stops at corner of Olympic Boulevard and Punt Road.   
Perth / Boorloo - Perth Rectangular Stadium

Sport has been played on the site since 1910, but has undergone major developments with the modern venue now providing a world-class experience.

Perth Rectangular Stadium will play host to five FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Australia & New Zealand™ group-stage matches, kicking off with the Group D battle between Denmark and Asian champions China PR.

The stadium is also well served by trains, with East Perth, Claisebrook and McIvor stations in close proximity to the Park.

Sydney / Gadigal - Stadium Australia

The spectacular Stadium Australia was the centrepiece of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Stadium Australia will host the nation's opening game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ when the Matildas take on the Republic of Ireland in Group B. Three knockout ties and the final itself will also head to the venue as football's trip Down Under concludes at this colossal arena.

Train:
The closest train station to the stadium is Olympic Park, a short 5-minute walk from the stadium. Catch a train from Lidcombe Station direct to Olympic Park, operating every 10 to 20 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes during events. 

Buses:

The stadium is easily accessible by bus, with Sydney Buses operating a number of services to Sydney Olympic Park including:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Strathfield via Sydney Olympic Park.

  • Route 526 runs from Rhodes to Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf

  • Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes and North Ryde

Sydney / Gadigal - Sydney Football Stadium

Completely rebuilt in time for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, the Sydney Football Stadium originally opened in 1988 and has been a celebrated venue for men’s and women’s football for more than three decades.

Sydney Football Stadium is gearing up to host six matches at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ – comprising of five group-stage fixtures and one knockout tie – beginning with the opening Group F clash between France and Jamaica on 23 July.

Light Rail:
Catch a light rail service to Moore Park on the L2 and/or L3 Randwick Line to get within a short walking distance of the stadium. From Central Railway Station, light rail services leave via Chalmers Street and bring you to the Moore Park stop which is located on Anzac Parade, just south of the stadium.

Buses:
A number of regular bus services stop along Anzac Pde, Oxford St and Lang Rd all within walking distance of the stadium. Plan your trip using the TripView app.
