After another unforgettable regular season in the National Women’s Soccer League, Westfield Matildas superstar Sam Kerr has been named in Opta’s NWSL Team of the Season.
Kerr, who plays for the Chicago Red Stars, ended the campaign as league’s leading scorer with 16, the second straight year she’s taking out the NWSL Golden Boot.
With four assists from her 19 appearances as well, it’s no surprise her remarkable numbers earned her a place amongst the competition’s top XI according to Opta Data.

Kerr, who turned 25 earlier this week, will be hoping to add to her tally when the NWSL Finals Series gets underway this weekend.
After finishing the regular season in fourth spot, the Red Stars travel to North Carolina to take on Premiers the Courage, with the winner to progress to the NWSL Grand Final.
