Kicking off in San Diego, Emily van Egmond and Alex Chidiac both started for their respective sides, with Wave aiming to increase their lead at the top of the table. Chidiac and Van Egmond both had chances to find the opener on either side of the break.

Louisville had the ball in the back of the net in the 57th minute, however, it was pulled back for a foul on the keeper to see the score remained deadlocked at 0-0.

The visitors had another chance to find the opener when Van Egmond brought down Chidiac in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Savannah DeMelo stepped up to take the spot kick, with San Diego’s keeper Carly Telford able to save the shot, and Chidiac spraying the rebound wide.

Chidiac had a chance to net the match winner in the 87th minute, her shot just wide of the goal with the score ending 0-0 despite over 40 shots registered.
