Westfield Matildas playmaker Alex Chidiac has made a winning start to life in Spain’s Primera Division Femenina with Atletico Madrid on Sunday morning (AEST).
Atletico, one of the powerhouses in the Spanish competition, opened the new season with a crushing 4-0 win away at Malaga.
Chidiac started on the bench, playing the last 32 minutes as one of four debutants in the Atletico side.
The visitors led 1-0 at half-time through a goal from Brazilian Ludmila, who then doubled the lead with her second one minute into the second half.
Further goals from Jennifer Hermoso and a late own goal completed the rout for Jose Luis Sanchez’s side.
